Outside Area
Outside Area Overview
We have two outside grassed areas and a smaller tarmac’d area within the nursery boundaries. The children go outside in all weathers wearing protective clothing which we provide and wellies (parents to provide).
Both areas have a purpose built sand pit, outdoor classroom and mud kitchen which all ages are able to access, children are well supervised whilst in the garden and able to use the ride on toys, slides, seesaws and many other water activities.
There is nothing quite like being outside in the sun or wind using climbing frames and swings to a good run around the garden. We believe that outdoor time is crucial to a child’s development which encourages staying active, enhances gross motor skills, gives a stronger immune system and helps children with their sleeping patterns.
Outside play promotes a childs’ self-confidence and social skills as well as independence and promotes friendships and language with others.
