Bishy Barnabees Day Nursery offers a nurturing environment for children aged 0-10 years, focusing on high-quality care and early education. Situated in Mattishall, Dereham, Norfolk, we provide a 'home from home' setting since 2008. We support our diverse community with translation services, ensuring every child and family receives personalised care.

Ladybird Room, main building: Child-led activities, outdoor play, dedicated zones, supervised exploration and learning in a secure environment.
Barnabee Room
(3-5 Years)
Barnabee Room, adjacent building: Structured school preparation, spacious outdoor area, diverse resources, guided by dedicated staff.
Outside Area
For all ages
Our spacious play area boasts a mud kitchen, sand pit, and outdoor classroom, promoting safe exploration and creativity.
Before & After School Club
(4/5-10 Years)
Barnabee room hosts 6-child before/after-school club, promoting inter-age interaction, optional meals (extra charge), and holiday care.

Bishy Barnabees is a wonderful nursery with a big garden and brilliant, kind, caring staff. Our child loves it and can’t wait to tell us what she’s learnt each day!
Both my son and daughter have been coming to Bishys since they were 8 months old. They have helped my children grow and develop into happy confident children and this has had a positive impact on my sons transition to school. I will miss the lovely staff and the fun nursery environment very much when it is my daughters turn to leave!
My daughter has been with this nursery for just over 2 months now and she loves attending. The staff are friendly, caring and I feel I can approach them with my concerns. I often used to feel anxious about leaving my daughter with anyone but I never had that concern with bishy barnabees. From the minute we had our walk around visit I could feel the love and care as soon as I entered the building.
Bishys has helped educate, care and support both myself and my children since they were six weeks old for eight years so far.They were instrumental in completing complex educational reports that facilitated a quick referral process and early neurodivergent diagnosis for my child. I believe that this was due to their well trained and experienced staff.If you are looking for a nursery that is an extension of your family, then Bishy Barnabees day nursery is the choice for you. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Our daughter has just turned 4 and has been going to Bishys since she was 11months old. She absolutely loves her days at nursery and enjoys telling us what she’s been up to when she comes home. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, nothing is ever too much for them. The support given has made her into a really confident little girl and it has been such an excellent start to her educational journey so far.
My children have been at Bishy’s for many years now and they have always been happy to go and they love the staff. The staff build lovely bonds with the children and that is clear to see on their happy faces. Nothing is ever too much trouble, they are very flexible if you need to change anything and the breakfast and after school club is another great part of what they offer. Communication is excellent and the setting is full of opportunities to learn, play and develop friendships which sets them up perfectly for their transition to school.
My girls have been going to Bishy's for nearly 8 years now and they are more like family than a nursery. The ladies are all incredible and want to help in anyway possible. Such a lovely nursery where many fond memories have been made. They'll be a lot of tears when the day comes that we don't require their services anymore, mainly from me!
